The following is the tentative itinerary: Friday, May 16: Drive ~320 miles to Wasilla. Gas stops in Healy & Talkeetna. Rest stops at the DOT wayside just before the Monderosa & Healy. Lunch in the Carlos Creek area or a picnic en route. Remain overnight (RON) at the Alaskan View Motel, 2650 E Parks Hwy., 907-376-6787, ($125+), [email protected]m. ( Note: We’ll stay here again on our return on May 20.) Dinner at the Mat-Su Family restaurant (401 E Parks Hwy., 907-357-7017). Sat., May 17: Drive to Homer ~272 miles. Gas at Girdwood & Soldotna. Show runs from 10 AM to 4 PM with an earlier load-in. This show is a major and loved community event! That evening we’ll attend and contribute to the pizza dinner with movie entertainment with the AAMA at the Aspen Suites Hotel at 91 Sterling Hwy. at a time to be announced. Guaranteed fun! Monday, May 19: You have the option to: 1) Return to Fairbanks; 2) Or, join those going to Seldovia on the Rainbow tour boat that stops at the Bird Island rookery en route ($89+/senior rate – less if there are enough of us). Just tell them you are part of the car club group: 907-262-4359, rainbowtourshomer@ gmail.com. Quaint Seldovia is a great experience! It has a nice restaurant and some great shops.
